Infrastructure Creation and Geo-Referencing

Home passes covered across the network migration
Asia's leading telecom and fiber broadband service provider, operating an extensive fiber optic network spanning thousands of sites and millions of home passes across its service footprint. At this scale, even small inconsistencies in cable route or path data can compound into significant operational risk - making precision and validation critical to any network migration.
The client needed to migrate its extensive fiber optic cable network and telecom features onto a new platform, digitizing, converting, and geo-referencing network data sourced from multiple input formats. The stakes were precision: cable route, core assignments, and physical path validation all needed to survive the migration intact, with snapping errors eliminated entirely.
The scope was substantial - 5,030 sites and clusters, 16,000 kilometres of cable, and 1,440,000 home passes - demanding an approach that was both systematic and rigorously validated at every stage.
Amantya executed the migration using a combination of automated and manual processes, aligned with the client's prescribed guidelines and standards:
Pits, poles, and network infrastructure were created and geo-referenced against base maps using RFP Designer, establishing a spatially accurate foundation for the migrated network.
Feeder and distribution cable networks were modeled with full validation of end-to-end connectivity, ensuring the digitized network reflected true physical topology.
Splitters and panels were configured and validated across the distribution network, so every port and connection point matched the physical build.
Connectivity continuity was verified from OLT to Splitter and Drop Terminal to ONT, catching path errors before they reached production.
Data migration, network topology and connectivity, geo-referencing, validation, and automated validation scripts formed the core of the engagement - ensuring the migrated network was not just digitized but verified.
Amantya successfully migrated the client's fiber optic network across 5,030 sites and clusters and 16,000 kilometres of cable, covering 1,440,000 home passes - with cable route, core assignments, and physical paths validated end-to-end and snapping errors eliminated.
A digitized, geo-referenced network built on prescribed standards, giving the client a reliable foundation for network operations and future planning.
